Since the first race in 1998 the 4 Race series has been run under an ARC race licence. Although this has worked well, times recorded by club runners do not count towards their runbritain Power of 10 handicap.
Given the vast majority of the Bitton 5k Series runners are club runners the Bitton 5k organisers have decided that the first race in the 2024 series on May 8th will be run under EA licence/rules and therefore count towards a runners Power of 10 handicap.
This will be a trial event and will inform the decision to switch all 4 races in the 2025 series to EA licence/rules.
To accommodate EA requirements we need to make a few changes to the organisation of the May 8th race as follows:
- On line entry via runbritain limited to 100. £10/£12 entry fee.
- On line entry open March 31st to noon May 7th
- Race start time 19:30
- Chip timing
- Pen start Sub 20mins & Sub 24mins & Sub 30mins
- On the day entry only if race limit not met £12/£14 entry fee.
- Number & chip collection, parking, toilets, baggage, on the day entry from Race HQ located at:
